Gettin' Out

The good weather's back in Ottawa, and it looks like the last traces of Winter are finally gone. That means it's once again time to load up on bus tickets, catch a ride, and get out again!

Went out yesterday for my first long stint downtown of the year, and it was just perfect. Haircut (second time on my own, too!), coffee with my Dad, comics, and dinner with a couple friends.

Looking forward to heading back down there this weekend for Free Comic Book Day.

April Showers (and Snow Storms, Apparently) Bring May (and July) Travels

The weather here the past couple of weeks has kind of sucked (though double-digit temps starting tomorrow!).  So, I've been taking the time to plan for some trips this Spring and Summer.

First off, I've booked a trip to Toronto for the Toronto Comics Art Fest (TCAF) in May. It's a roughly four-hour train ride, then a day-and-a-half/two nights in a hotel totally on my own!

Second, my Dad just booked hotel accommodations for a family trip to Chicago in July for the 2015 Joubert Syndrome & Related Disorders conference where I will be speaking like I did in 2013. Super excited!

More on these later.

Cheers!

Writing Again, Help Wanted

It's been nearly a year since I submitted my last article to Support for Special Needs' website, and I'm thinking of writing for someone else again. It increases readership (I'm almost certain that that's the correct term), allows me to stick to a concrete deadline and, if at all possible, I could get paid for it.

So, friends, readers, and passers-by, I'm asking for a little help here. If anyone knows of any magazines, blogs, or websites that focus on disabilities, advocacy, parenting, health, or anything else that might fit into those categories and are open to submissions, please let me know. Also, feel free to share this post if you like.

Thanks in advance.
