Back To The Surface World

It had to happen sometime. I'm finally moving myself back upstairs for the first time since the end of July. Made it almost to a full six months in our basement.

It was fun, but the nights here are pretty cold and the basement's not heated all that well. My mother's concerned about my health and, as much as I'd like to stay down here, I can see her point. Plus, it kind of isn't fair to the rest of my family when they want to use it and I've got my stuff down here. Gotta share!

Oh well. Kind of gives me some ideas for living space if we ever move and I decide that I don't want to live on my own (it's looking that way, anyway).

While I'm going back up to my room, I'll still be using the basement for a sort-of office. Keeps me focused and maybe it'll help me get up a little earlier.

Cheers.

New Opportunities

Before Christmas, I had an interview for volunteer work with the National Capital Able Sail Association. The interview went incredibly well, and the woman I met with wanted to set up a meeting between me and the rest of the organization's board members.

Flash forward to last night. I was invited to NCASA's monthly board meeting, where I became their Communications person!

Right now, my main duty will be to do up the Association's monthly newsletter and send it out. I'll also attend monthly meetings and events. They even want me to try sailing this summer. Haven't done that since I went to Camp Merrywood, so it should be interesting!

And it's very part-time, which means I can keep at the good, old job hunt while I'm at it.

It's a great opportunity, seems like a nice group of people and, honestly, I'm just happy to be doing something again! The bonus being that I can contribute to an organization that assists people with disabilities.

Cheers

Back At It!

Happy New Year, blog-land!

The holiday is over, and the nasty cold I got first thing in 2018 seems to have finally passed, so I'm back at the old routine, such as it is.

Meetings are being scheduled, new social opportunities are being looked into, and I'm back to writing (obviously).

Looking forward to some travels and productivity during this latest spin of the Earth.

Cheers!
